At TWD we love to create construction methods and design installation tools. We achieve creative, simple, and efficient solutions through committed teamwork. Thanks to our main pillars – fun, development, and happy clients – we grow at a rapid pace with over 200 talented people in four locations: Rotterdam, London, Athens, and Taipei.
Every day we contribute to the energy transition and key infrastructure projects worldwide. We do this by offering innovative design solutions to our clients, mainly in the offshore wind and heavy civils industry. Our no-nonsense, informal working environment offers you the opportunity to share your enthusiasm for engineering and work together with other passionate Engineers and Designers in the field.
To further strengthen our team in Rotterdam and realize our mission to contribute to a better world by making construction easier, we are looking for Marine Engineers!
We are looking for smart and eager people with a practical backbone and the following profile:
At TWD we work hard to deliver quality and finish our projects in time. We believe a stimulative company culture with enough room for fun and development motivates our people to do so. That is why working at TWD also means:
As a Marine Engineer at TWD, your focus lies at the methodology of an operation/installation. You design the way an operation is executed by focusing on finding a simple and effective method. The process starts with simple but ingenious hand calculations to prove the principle of your method. During the project, your work grows gradually into detailed (hydro)dynamic simulations, showing the full operational effectiveness to our clients. When the design of installation equipment commences, your contribution to the team is the specification of the performance requirements, generated from your methodology simulations. You are a vital part of the team, as you and your fellow mechanical and structural Engineers and Designers are continuously trying to optimize the operational performance of the mission equipment. If the installation equipment is actively operated, your job is to create the kinematic/dynamic models, provide the control system design, and integrate this into the design.
At TWD we love to keep things simple and practical, so during the whole design process we challenge you to get from behind your desk and build prototypes/demonstrators, go to the client, and see with your own eyes what you are working on. This will allow you to keep in touch with reality and make your designs simple, safe, and effective. We empower you to take the responsibility for an entire project, including its quality, budget, planning and project members. We however always make sure to have your back, such that you can learn and grow!
Of course, your job is not set in stone. You are encouraged to define for yourself which tasks are required to meet these responsibilities. The same holds for your development. We highly value your (career) development and encourage you to take the lead. You will develop yourself on-the-job, but you can also follow relevant workshops and/or training to acquire the knowledge and skills you are interested in or need in your job.
