WTG Seafastening – TPC Changhua

To assist Jan De Nul with installing the WTG components on the Changhua Offshore Wind Farm, TWD designed seafastening structures on Jan de Nul’s installation vessel Taillevent.

We provided seafastening for the towers, reusing existing grillages from Jan de Nul’s previous projects. In addition, we modified the blade rack seafastening design to enhance the design and meet the project’s operational requirements. Our structural engineers closely worked with our marine team and conducted a motion analysis to determine the correct accelerations at the seafastening location. This collaboration resulted in safe and functional seafastening solutions.

  • Tailored seafastening designs
  • Blade tip immersion study

As the global wind energy sector expands, a shortage of vessels for handling bigger monopiles is foreseen. Simply scaling up isn’t enough.
