Tubular Piling Gate – Dundee, Scotland, UK

Offshore wind quay on a pile grid

To provide marshalling space for the Neart Na Gaoeithe offshore wind farm, GRAHAM Civil Engineering built a 171-meter extension of the Caledon East Wharf at the Port of Dundee. The new wharf helps increase the offshore wind capacity of Scotland.

TWD developed the installation method of the 126-pile grid and a self-supporting piling gate. Two gates were fabricated to further speed the piling campaign. The double-level gate was positioned against the previously installed pile and was repositioned in a single crane lift which sped up the piling rate.

Our close collaboration with GRAHAM Civil Engineering resulted in a smart construction project.
