Pile Guiding Frame – FPSO

PGF and seafastening delivered in 3 weeks

Jumbo Offshore had to install 8 anchor piles for a Floating Production Storage and Offloading (FPSO) mooring system in the Pierce Field in the North Sea. To hammer these piles within the correct inclination and orientation tolerances, a subsea Pile Guiding Frame (PGF) was required. TWD designed the PGF that was lowered to the seabed with the cranes on the Jumbo Fairplayer. The PGF sleeve was open on one side to allow the mooring pad eye and chains to fit in. After hammering, the PGF was retrieved for the next pile.

During the whole period of this project, we closely monitored the progress and collaborated with all the parties involved. This was key to the project’s success. In addition, due to the challenging schedule of the project and no rental equipment being available, we delivered the final design of the PGF and its seafastening within only 3 weeks.

Project highlights
