Smart lifting tool design to cut installation time
For the construction of the Amalia viaduct at the Port of Rotterdam, TWD provided Boskalis with lifting frames. The frames enabled the swift installation of a wide range of pre-cast concrete elements of the viaduct sound barrier.
The frames ensured the pre-cast elements could be safely upended, positioned, and installed. We designed the frame with a smart adjustment mechanism that could easily correct the difference in center of gravity for various elements. Thanks to this ingenious mechanism, we achieved a safe operation significantly speeding up the time of the installation.
