VolkerStevin UK’s combi-wall piling gates, as designed by TWD, have been awarded the Innovation Award during the Marine & Coastal Civil Engineering Expo. The exhibition took place at ExCeL, London on 27th & 28th September 2017.

The innovative first-in-class piling gate, designed to install over 700 piles on the Dover Western Docks Revival Project, skids forward autonomously from the crane and hydraulically adjusts its position to prepare for the next pile. Working parallel to the crane shortens the critical path and results in a significant increase of the projected piling outputs.

Effectively combining in-house knowledge on structural and mechanical engineering, hydraulics, and naval architecture results in a unique advantage to design integrated installation solutions for all near and offshore marine construction works. Combined with TWD’s innovative approach towards traditional construction schemes, the essential competitive edge to the contractor’s tender or project is provided.

With a quick project turnaround, competitive rates, and reliable solutions, TWD is the engineering partner of choice for various major contractors. With the newly opened UK office, TWD also extended their presence in the UK construction market and closely works together with the operational teams of UK contractors to enable successful project executions.
