TWD Assists HSM in Transporting and Installing a new Afsluitdijk Rolling Door to Protect Against Flooding

TWD and HSM have successfully completed the transport and installation of a rolling door on the Afsluitdijk.

The door, measuring in at 58 metres long, 14 metres high, and weighing 1,000 tonnes, was designed to safeguard against potential flooding of the IJsselmeer and Markermeer regions. The project required careful planning throughout. To ensure its safe and efficient transport and installation, TWD designed the seafastening and lifting points, and provided the lifting and turning plans for the subassemblies during construction. This story-board approach helped to ensure a safe and efficient installation.
