Stone Spreader – Montserrat Port Development Project

A smart solution designed and built to create a levelled gravel layer for caisson foundations 

The Montserrat Port Development project aims to replace the existing berthing jetty to accommodate larger ships. Meridian Construction was awarded the contract to build the new jetty, with TWD assisting in engineering, procurement, and construction management (EPC), as well as overseeing the containerized transport of the Stone Spreader. 

TWD’s smart solution for this project involved designing and constructing a Stone Spreader for placing a levelled gravel layer for caisson foundations. The Stone Spreader is self-leveling and features a chain-driven bucket mechanism. Additionally, TWD designed a survey tower to ensure that the caissons are correctly leveled during installation. 

Throughout the project, we provided comprehensive support to Meridian Construction. TWD managed every aspect from the initial design phase to the procurement of parts and the final transportation to Montserrat.
