Job Description

Software Engineer

Are you ready to bring simple solutions to complex programming challenges? Do you like to work on a variety of tools and technologies? Do you have great coding and problem-solving skills, a sense of responsibility, and are you ready to make a difference in your projects? If the answer is yes, then we are looking for you!

TWD – A Fun Challenge to Be Part of

At TWD we love to create construction methods and design installation tools. We achieve creative, simple, and efficient solutions through committed teamwork. Thanks to our main pillars – fun, development, and happy clients – we grow at a rapid pace with over 200 talented people in four locations: Rotterdam, London, Athens, and Taipei.

Every day we contribute to the energy transition and key infrastructure projects worldwide. We do this by offering innovative design solutions to our clients, mainly in the offshore wind and heavy civils industry. Our no-nonsense, informal working environment offers you the opportunity to share your enthusiasm for engineering and work together with other passionate Engineers and Designers in the field.

To further strengthen our team in Rotterdam and realize our mission to contribute to a better world by making construction easier, we are looking for a Software Engineer!

What You Will Do

As a Software Engineer at TWD, you will work on a variety of internal and external development projects. Internal projects relate to our in-house office automation solutions and our custom-built design & engineering platform. Our office automation makes sure our projects run smoothly. You can think of our own time registration application, project management software, and various dashboards. In addition, you will work on external projects to develop code and applications for our clients. This could range from a Python script to parametrize the movements of our constructions to a cloud-based operational tool to optimize our client’s offshore operations.

You will work together with your colleagues in TWD’s software engineering department. A glimpse of your responsibilities:

  • Writing Javascript / Typescript code to bring our in-house tools to the next level
  • Define and create new ideas for in-house tools
  • Writing Python code for external engineering & design projects
  • Translating your user’s needs into working applications (back- and frontend)
  • Developing modern web applications and user-friendly user interfaces
  • Safeguarding quality of work and clean code
  • Recognizing opportunities for new features and opportunities

Of course, your job is not set in stone. You are encouraged to define for yourself which tasks are required to meet these responsibilities. The same holds for your development. We highly value your (career) development and encourage you to take the lead. You will develop yourself on-the-job, but you can also follow relevant workshops and/or training to acquire the knowledge and skills you are interested in or need in your job.
