As we are growing fast, we are looking for Senior Hydrodynamic Engineers to strengthen our team in Rotterdam so that we can realize our mission to contribute to a better world by making construction easier.
As a Senior Hydrodynamic Engineer, you focus on the methodology of an offshore operation/installation. Together with your teammates you uncover the driving factors behind installation challenges of our clients. You are in the lead of defining the best work method and way to simulate it, accurate and efficiently. You have to think about e.g. physics, (dynamic) force paths, eigenmodes, damping, body interaction and whether or not they have a significant impact on your simulations. Your ability to help define the workflows and to direct your teammates towards what really matters will make our client’s project into a success.
At TWD we love to keep things simple and practical, so during the whole design process you challenge yourself and your teammates to get away from your desk, go out there, and see with your own eyes what you have been working on. This will allow everybody to keep in touch with reality. However, the simplest solutions sometimes are found by solving complex equations. You therefore have to be able to dive deep into some technical queries. Furthermore, you are a frontrunner in the technical development of the group. You contribute to quality assurance, preservation of knowledge, and boosting innovation of the marine/hydrodynamics competence.
Of course, your job is not set in stone. You are encouraged to define for yourself which tasks are required to meet these responsibilities. The same holds for your development. We highly value your (career) development and encourage you to take the lead. You will develop yourself on-the-job, but you can also follow relevant workshops and/or training to acquire the knowledge and skills you are interested in or need in your job.
