Foundations of Your Job

As a Hydrodynamic Engineer at TWD, your main focus is on developing simple and effective methodologies for operations and pieces of equipment. You begin with ingenious hand calculations to establish the principles of your methods and gradually progress to detailed (hydro)dynamic simulations. Your work demonstrates the operational effectiveness to clients and identifies key factors impacting installation challenges.

A glimpse of your responsibilities:

• You design simple and effective methodologies for executing operations and utilizing equipment
• You consider physics, (dynamic) force paths, eigenmodes, damping, body interaction, etc., and assess whether they significantly impact your simulations
• You create kinematic/dynamic models and integrate them into the design if the equipment is actively operated
• You guide the optimization of the mission equipment’s operational performance as a vital member of a team of engineers and designers
• You build prototypes/demonstrators, visit clients, and witness firsthand what you are working on
• You stay connected to reality and ensure your designs are simple, safe, and effective
• You prioritize simplicity and practicality in your work

You are the perfect match for TWD if you also have the following skills and experience:

• You have a bachelor’s or master’s degree in a technical field, including but not limited to:
  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Civil Engineering
  • Aerospace Engineering
• You have 0-2 years of working experience as a Hydrodynamic Engineer, Mechatronics Engineer, or System Dynamics Engineer
• Programming skills are required, preferably in Python
• Experience with specialized software such as Ansys AQWA and Orca Flex is a plus
