Design and fabrication of a robust structure that allows for safe transfer crew personnel to Jack Up Vessel (JUV)
TWD assisted Shimizu Corporation in the design and fabrication of retractable boatlanding structure for the Blue Wind JUV. The project was a collaboration between TWD and TWD Japan Corporation, who was responsible for managing the fabrication and timely delivery of the structure.
One of the key design challenges was to minimize the footprint on deck, optimizing space without compromising functionality. To achieve this, the boatlanding was designed to be foldable during transit, utilizing a winch system for deployment and retraction. Additionally, a davit crane was incorporated to facilitate the pickup of equipment.
This project highlights TWD’s expertise in designing and delivering offshore wind equipment tailored for the Japanese market.
