Offshore constructions are designed to cover decades, but will reach at some point the end of their lifetime and need to be decommissioned. This work must be done safely and with as little environmental impact as possible. Removal is often more challenging than installation because you depend on the installation functionalities which are applied to the construction with only commissioning in mind. Each project is unique and requires therefore optimal, creative and tailor-made solutions.
Take a look at our Services page to learn more about how TWD can assist in your upcoming decommissioning project.
SMIT Engineering requested TWD to design a working platform for the decommissioning of the Q8-A satellite platform. This included the foundation for a hydraulic crane, internal cutting tool, swiveling winch, and storage container.
Heerema Marine Contractors requested TWD to develop a conceptual design for a brace lifting tool. This tool was required for the decommissioning of the North West Hutton platform jacket structure, located in the North Sea.
