Last week the fabrication of the Barge Master (BM) T40 was started. This smaller version of the BM-T700 was specifically developed as a motion compensation system for an offshore knuckle boom crane.

The BM T40 will be installed on the Wagenborg walk-to-work vessel, which will be used by Shell to service their platforms in the North sea. The T40 system compensates three main degrees of freedom (heave, roll and pitch) and is capable of lifting 15t at 9m or 5t at 20m. The system can be used for the supply and maintenance of platforms and fixed offshore structures.

TWD completed the structural design of the BM-T40, including the deck integration, cylinder interfaces, crane interface, and access. TWD congratulates Barge Master with the fabrication start of the BM-T40 and eagerly awaits the completion of this innovative product.
