We are a young and enterprising organization that supports others in reaching their own goals. We do not only support our own employees but are also committed to supporting external people and associations. We are proud to donate to sporting, cultural and charity organizations such as:
We are a proud sponsor of the second oldest rowing club in the Netherlands. Through this collaboration, we not only support young, ambitious people in their sporting pursuits but also introduce them to the world of offshore engineering through our informative In-House days. Several young rowers have even undertaken internships with TWD.
The TU Delft’s Hyperloop team won the prestigious Hyperloop competition in Los Angeles. Here, the Dutch team, had the opportunity to test their scale model Pod on a test track of 1.25 km, constructed by spacecraft manufacturer SpaceX. After the development of a working prototype, TWD supported the Delft Hyperloop team with the design of a test frame. Instead of being launched, the Pod will stay in one place during the test phase. Speed will be added to the Pod with a driving system which is incorporated in the test frame.
The Ocean Cleanup asked TWD to help develop modular support frames for their plastic catcher. Within only two weeks, TWD provided a simple, modular design which is light in weight and not harmful for sea life. The floating support frames are equipped with sensors which locate and keep track of the progress of the project.
The Great Plastic Bake Off (GPBO) offers mobile upcycling units (Rolling Kitchens) that transform plastic waste into multifunctional building materials. They can be placed anywhere in the world and are designed for usage in those places where the risk of plastic waste ending up in the environment is greatest. TWD has been working with GPBO to come up with sub-solutions how plastic blocks can be made from waste and how they can fit into a standard 20 ft container.
We actively donate to causes we believe in. Cordaid Memisa is an organization that supports expectant mothers and their children in developing countries. SOS Kinderdorpen is the Dutch branche of SOS Children’s Village International. They support children in need with basic living, medical and educational needs and a brighter future.
TWD is supports the football club FC ‘s-Gravenzande. It is a local club located by the sea side, near Rotterdam harbour. We want to inspire young and energetic spirits to join the offshore industry and to join our team.
